See Spot grow

Patches.  Still our baby.  And trying to keep him that way!

But our beloved puppy (coming on 5 months old now) is growing up quickly!  In fact he was just neutered less than 1 week ago (and recovering just fine).  On a side-note, as you can see nice and clearly in this particular photo, his ears have been significantly lop-sided lately!  Is that weird?!  In fact, you can tell which pictures on here are the most recent because they are the ones in which his ears are not matching!

We get a kick out of many of his entertaining behaviors and funny habits...

..One being the way he sleeps on what he understands to be our belongings.  Perhaps he focuses on the ones that he knows we pick up and take with us all the time, figuring that when we leave we'll just have to bring him along.  "Oh darn!" he says.  (And he would usually choose laying down on our backpacks or my purse rather than the places we set up for him, such as his lovely dog bed from America!  Of course!)

..Also the way he loves to rest or sleep under things (guess it's like a cave for him?), particularly where you are sitting.  Here he is chillin' with another volunteer while we visited him briefly at his site on our way back from our holiday travels.

Patches has been enjoying taking regular walks with us on the trails that we are so fortunate to have nearby (many volunteers' sites are topographically-challenged, so we hear).

And he still loves his mother and father, melting their hearts numerous times daily.  (And he also loves sticks.  And making us chase after him to get it from him.)

They grow up so fast..!  Still, in our eyes, Patches is as cute and loveable as ever!  How much joy and laughter he brings us, especially on those trying days (of which there have been a number!) when we need it most.  We are so very grateful to have him as an integral, daily life part of our Peace Corps Namibia experience. :-)
