The pontoon we took for free, next to a tractor trailer, from Botswana to Zambia:
This is Victoria Falls during the dry season. (Durning the rainy season, the water flow is enormous, and you get pretty soaked even just looking from a distance!)
Zimbabwe side:
| Mosi-oa-Tunya translates into "The Smoke that Thunders." |
The trails at the Falls were surrounded by a rainforest-like microcosm from all the water.
Zambia side:
Not only did we get to see the Falls, but we also got to walk along the upstream part of the Zambezi River and get right up to the edge and look over! The experience was quite exhilarating.
This is a view of Angels Pool, which is at the edge of the Falls...
...Where we jumped in!
Now that we've visited, we can say we do agree that Victoria Falls deserves its status as one of the Seven Natural Wonders.
